W

hy Tench Reserve?

You and your guests will be given an opportunity to reconnect with nature within this picturesque setting amongst the lush green parkland of Tench Reserve, with a beautiful backdrop of the Nepean River. There are several great spots for photo opps & lookouts along the river, you can take some before or after the nuptials to watch the boats, birds and other wildlife.

There’s also a number of cafes and restaurants nearby where you can pick up a bite to eat or enjoy a drink after you’ve tied the knot! Head to the Nepean Rowing ClubCafe at Lewers or to the Nepean River Restaurant Precinct for refreshments and to refuel.

Or, for a day out on the water, Tench Reserve has a paved public boat ramp. The Nepean Belle Paddlewheeler's river cruises depart from Tench Reserve (about 5 minutes walk south of where the ceremonies take place)

You can have up to 20 people (the 2 of you and 18 guests) at your ceremony. This can not be increased.

Rain. Now it doesn't happen often, but when it does you will need to shelter under trees or bring umbrellas - how romantic. There are also several small undercover areas along the river. These spaces do not require a booking - it’s simply first in, best dressed!

Nepean River is part of Penrith City Council. Generously, Penrith Council permits small marriage ceremonies to take place in their park - without the requirement to reserve or pay for the use of the park.

We will provide a small table for you to stand at and sign your Marriage Certificate, after your ceremony. If you are looking for something more elaborate, we can assist with our decorations

Penrith City Council does not allow the throwing of rice, confetti, glitters, sprays, poppers or streamers. Instead you are encouraged to use more natural alternatives such as petals and/or bubbles. All petals must be removed after the ceremony. Synthetic petals are prohibited.
